NOTE: Easter Holiday Weekend - Matches have been arranged so that those with home nights on the Monday or Tuesday will play week commencing 6 April, and those with home nights on Thursday or Friday are scheduled for week commencing 13 April. Matches on the Wednesday maybe either before or after Easter. There are matches scheduled for the Monday following Anzac weekend.
As this competition has only time for ONE round there will be a different set of finals for the top 6 teams at the end of the round robin stage. Teams which finish in positions 3, 4, 5 and 6 will have a playoff - but the two top teams will have a bye into the following week. The initial playoff is as follows: during week beginning 7/6 - the team who finished 3rd will play the team who finished 6th; AND the team who finished 4th will play the team who finished 5th. Semi Finals will then be played during W/C 14/6 - the winners of each of the previous weeks’ matches plus the two byes play as follows: the team who finished 1st in the round robin will play the winner of the match between 4th and 5th; and the team who finished 2nd in the round robin will play the winner of the match between 3rd and 6th. The Grand Final will be between the winners of these two matches during W/C 21/6. In all the above playoffs and finals, the highest ranked team from the round robin stage chooses the playing venue but it is their responsibility to check the venue is available.
| Week Beginning | |
|---|---|
| 7/6 | Playoffs between 3rd and 6th places (a); and between 4th and 5th places (b). |
| 14/6 | Semi-Finals between 1st place and and the winner of playoff b; and between 2nd place and the winner of playoff a. |
| 21/6 | Grand Final between winners of the two semi finals above |
(Note the teams which finish higher in the round robin decide the venue for playing of the playoffs, semi finals and grand final)
Points for this competition will be taken as the number of individual matches won. That is, teams winning 6-3 will get 6 points and their opponents will get 3 points. If this results in a tie at the end, the games won will be counted.
Match Scheduling and Control
This competition is a 3 person team format with six singles and three doubles matches.
NOTE - You can read the Competition By-laws here
Starting time is 7.30 pm, except at Macquarie Uni which is 7.15 pm and Hornsby PCYC which is 7 pm. Although it may occasionally be possible to allow play to finish late, this cannot be relied upon, and every effort must be made to finish matches by 10.30 pm (10 pm at Macquarie Uni). Play must start at the nominated time (unless otherwise arranged by the two captains) with whichever players are present. Note that there maybe a visitors fee charged at a few clubs.
Score sheets (Result sheets) are to be completed fully with full player names, and all games and points entered, added up and transferred to the result position at the bottom of the score sheet, being signed by both captains. The result must be posted or scanned and emailed (rod.falck@optusnet.com.au) to the Recorder the day after the match is played. It is the responsibility of the winning team to forward the result.
